back to school

guess who is starting kindergarten in just a few short days......

.....this monkey right here. I am excited for him to start this new adventure. and kinda sad too. Hope i don't cry on his first day.

And this guy right here (who was not in the mood for a picture) will be headed to the FIRST grade.

Over the past few weeks, Taysen got all caught up with the 4 doctors he sees at Seattle Children's Hospital. He has remained fairly stable. His spine is at about a 8-12 degree curve, and his right hip is coming out even more, but this is not a shock to hear. His range of motion all looks great, and the pulmo was happy with his air movement in his lungs. He has been a little extra floppy and tired at the end of the day lately, so we are going to set up another sleep study to check if any bipap settings need to be changed. And just in case my husband "forgets" he offered to do this sleep study with Taysen i have it in writing :) He also had labs done as much as he tried to keep it together, he just can't. He didn't say any bad words this time, but he did yell in the midst of an absolute tear filled meltdown.. "JUST DO IT ALREADY MAN!!!!!!!"

Run For Taysen T-Shirts

Last weekend was our longest run to date......16 miles! I can't believe that i'm still alive after that.....but I am, and it actually wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I guess (i hope) that means i'm improving. Carter rode his bike with us, and Kelli (who is running the half) ran with us the first 6 miles. Then Carter and Kelli traded spots so we had company those last 10 miles as well. To read about why Kelli is running for Taysen, click HERE

I am so excited that our Run For Taysen T-SHIRTS are in! I love the way they turned out, and have the amazing Ashley Jones to thank for the awesome logo. Ashley is a graphic artist with a precious daughter with SMA type 1. To read about Skylar, click HERE. Ashley's website is HERE

If you would like to order a T-shirt, please contact me at langstraats@hotmail.com. I am going to be placing another order next week. They are $13. Charcoal gray for adults, and teal blue for kids. (excuse the cell phone pics)

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to donate! We are getting there! To visit our race page, click HERE
